Before, the common law appeared to appreciate the need for an employee to become loyal and obedient and there was no responsibility on the part of the company to ensure that the employee had access to welfare and job security. It appears that the law imported the notion of an obligation of confidence and trust between employers and employees and this pattern is evident from the jurisprudence of courts in the United States. It’s argued by many legal scholars that the routine of employment law as it is dealt with from the common law tends to favor companies because labour unions are governed with a premise of distrust and that the law tends to embrace the values of conservative political participants such as politicians, journalists, and senior bureaucrats.
It’s frequently known as the unitary view of labour relations which is contrasted with some of the other views like the pluralist approach which recognises that labour and management may and have distinct and competing interests because companies are finally concerned to earn profit whereas employees are focused on getting the best possible working conditions, a healthy and safe work environment and occupational security. The pluralist view is extended to what is termed the perspective of labor relations that are connected with posts and Marxist theory that capitalism is endemically vulnerable to battle owing to the exploitative nature of financial relationships in a system. Many scholars seem to accept that both the revolutionary and libertarian view of labor relations are too extreme to accurately reflect reality.
In the contemporary super adaptive economy where persons can and do change professions quickly and frequently, there are few offices with regular hours of work and there are growing numbers of individuals engaged in work from home via the phenomenon of teleworking, the old theories of labor law are beginning to become obsolete. In previous times the concept of labour law was that someone would do work in one occupation for a single employer, for a company in one place. Workers often work a range of employers at once, frequently on a casual or part-time basis. Also, there are currently a large number of individuals who view themselves as self-explanatory. These trends are explained by the need for workers to file for flexibility in their working arrangements. Additionally, it means that efficiency could be obtained from technology’s power to allow teleworking. Finding a Balance Between Labour and Leisure
Wikipedia defines Labour Day as,”An annual vacation to recognize employees. Labour Day has its roots in the labor union movement, specifically the eight hour movement, which recommended eight hours for work, eight hours for recreation, and eight hours for rest.”
If you were to ask most people, for yourself, I believe that you would discover whether working in the home and/or the office that you can readily put in an eight hour day and often, more.
Some will say they could even do eight hours of diversion based on what they are doing, but most times it’s spread out over the week or any time they’re on a holiday.
To have eight hours of rest though is quite another story.
If you are fortunate, you’ve got eight hours of sleep most nights, but to take that lots of hours for rest without being on vacation or forced to take it due to an illness or accident, is it possible?
Yes, it’s possible; that’s what a day of rest means.
The difficulty lies in that when you have a day of leisure it’s being full of all the things you have not done and it soon becomes a day of catch up on that list of things to do instead of a day to do nothing at all. Does this seem familiar?
So just how many hours each day or in a week do you rest? When you are asleep 11, I do not mean at night.
Is there a balance of the hours of work you put in at work, or working around the home, or being busy performing for others, or even attempting to get as much done as you can, and the time you take away for one to relax?
You may love the job you are doing and it may be relaxing and/or not feel like work at all, but
That does not mean you can not take off time for you and reap the benefits in the day of leisure too.
How frequently do you sit back, put your feet up, and sigh as you take in a few deep breaths while watching the world go by?
Is there balance in your labour and leisure throughout the week?
You don’t need to take eight hours every day to unwind as that is somewhat unrealistic, but it is important to make some time to just”be”.

You give a good deal of yourself and your own time throughout the week and it’s time to give a little back to you.
Finding a balance between rest and work isn’t always simple and thus you have to create comfort a priority as much as everything else is.
You need to check at your calendar every week and see where you can make time for the leisure. Hopefully there is a time in every day where you are able to unwind. If not, then at least once 1 day a week.
When you make time to do nothing whatsoever you’re recharging your body, mind, and spirit.
Enjoy your time off by doing nothing at all, or doing something relaxing, you deserve it.

Whether you’re actually out there fishing or just taking a day off from everything, there’s an enjoyment, a simplicity, a relaxation, a back to the fundamentals plus a natural, relaxing feeling in these words.
Although I’m not a fisher-woman and might not choose to go fishing on my day off, the words still have a feeling of peacefulness to them and remind me about taking some time from my busy life to unwind and revel in time during the day or day.
You’re the only person who will define exactly what the balance between labour and leisure is for you, in addition to how much time you will or will not take for relaxing.
Remember what’s important at the end of the day; just how much you did or how much you appreciated.
Do you really feel relaxed or stressed? This is a fantastic sign of whether there’s a balance on your life of leisure and work.
It is not about the number of time you’re taking, but rather the quality of that time.
